  • This estate was converted into one of the residences of Queen Isabel la Católica during her periods of rest in Extremadura.

This palace is from the first third of the 14th century and, like the Mirabel Estate, it was one of the Catholic Monarchs' favourite resting places. It originally belonged to the Order of Saint Jerome, who renovated it on two occasions. One of the buildings was rebuilt by King Philip II between 1551 and 1554.

It is not open to visitors at the present time as it is a private dwelling, but it may interest you to know that there is a great interior courtyard around which all the rooms are distributed. Naturally there is a chapel, dedicated to Santa Cecilia, with extremely delicate and spectacular Mudejar coffering.

What really is worth while is to stroll in the surrounding area, the beauty of the landscapes around this palace is breathtaking. It has been a Cultural Heritage Site and a Monument of Historic and Artistic Interest since 1931.
