As the Jerte river passes through Plasencia, it creates the well-known Isla (island) - the largest park in this Cáceres city.
The passage of the Jerte river through the city of Plasencia in the province of Cáceres has a park that stands out due to its great beauty and is known as La Isla (the island). It gets its name from the island shapes that the river creates when it splits into two as it passes through the town. It is the largest park in the city, with a surface area of 10 hectares, and it has a natural pool that will delight the whole family on hot summer days.
Furthermore, the natural richness of this scenery will invite you to enjoy a pleasant walk along the banks up to the Jerte dam. From there, you can contemplate the image of the Valle del Jerte reflected in the reservoir water.
