Located in the Monfragüe National Park, the natural setting of this Cáceres town holds a host of surprises for the visitor.

A stroll around its outskirts affords you a chance to delight in the beauty that typifies the Extremadura countryside while its streets are home to historic buildings such as the parish church of Santa Marina, the chapel of San Roque and the sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de Cabezón.

The dishes to be savoured there showcase the great culinary tradition of Extremadura as a whole, as clearly exemplified by the orange salad, the "migas" (fried breadcrumbs with chopped bacon and pork, chorizo etc.), the black pudding and the "caldereta" (goat/lamb casseroles).
