  • The municipality of Pasarón de la Vera is surrounded by woodlands and cultivated land where they grow olives, grapes, figs and cherries.

Dating back to Medieval times, this small town in the district of La Vera was founded in the 13th century over the remains of ancient civilizations that once inhabited the region. In 1998, it was awarded the status of an Historic and Artistic Site.

Pasarón de la Vera boasts a wealth of religious architecture, such as El Salvador Church, which was built in the 16th century and remodelled in the 17th century, the parish church tower, which dates to the 13th century, making it the town's oldest structure, and La Blanca Chapel, the largest in La Vera, built in the late 16th century.

The palace of the Marquise of Lara is one of the area's most outstanding landmarks. It was built in the Italian Renaissance style by Garci-Fernández Manrique de Lara in the 16th century.

We also recommend visiting the Pecharromán Museum, located in a manor house that was built in the first third of the 16th century by the Manrique de Lara family. The museum was opened in 1996 to house the work and book collection of Ricardo Pecharromán y Morales, a renowned Spanish painter, cultural promoter and patron of the arts.

One of the area's most popular activities is the Los Boos trail, an old stone path once used by the local countryfolk and which runs through a unique landscape teeming with indigenous plants and trees.
